The Blues Q1 side went to Utah for the final qualifier tournament of the 2019 campaign. After getting 3rd in the first two qualifiers of the year the lads knew they had the statement to make especially with a a few key guys out of the roster and traveling to Utah all day Friday.
The boys got warmed up for the day with the first game against the Denver Barbos second side winning 26-12. They followed it but beating the stacked Park City Haggis team 26-12. In the third match of the day the Denver Barbarians first side started things off well as they went up 0-14 at half and the deficit ended up being too much for the Blues and ended up losing 12-24. The Blues faced Peaks in the final match of pool play where they put up a dominate performance winning 47-5 which sealed the Blues a spot in the Championship where they would inevitably met Park City Haggis again.
The match was played much closer the second time. Utah started the scoring to open the game up 0-7. The Blues finished on a 14 point swing to win 21-19 and secure bragging rights as the hottest team in the Frontier Region just two weeks away from Nationals!
